Responding to growing concerns that the regulatory design
of the U.S. electricity system may lead to inadequate investment, price spikes and service interruptions, the National Commission on Energy Policy, a bipartisan group of leaders in the field of energy, will hold a forum on “The Future of Electricity Restructuring” on Tuesday, April 1 at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Building in Washington, D.C. The forum (agenda attached) will feature leading industry, Congressional, federal and state regulatory, consumer and other experts who will examine the overall state of electricity restructuring, especially regarding the key questions of resource adequacy and transmission system investment. The National Commission on Energy Policy is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to developing a long-term U.S. energy strategy to promote national security, economic prosperity, and environmental safety and health. The Commission is funded by The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, The Pew Charitable Trusts, The David and Lucile Packard Foundation, The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, and The Energy Foundation.
